The compact minivan Dacia Jogger made its debut in 2021. The car is positioned by the manufacturer as the successor to previously produced models of the same segment, created on the basis of the first-generation Logan sedan.

Concept

Like its predecessors, it is located on the border of two classes, combining the qualities of a compact minivan, crossover, and passenger wagon. However, technically it is related to the third-generation Logan sedan, sharing with it a platform and most mechanical components. The fundamental difference from it is the increased wheelbase and rear overhang, thanks to which this model is the longest in the production line of the Romanian brand. Another feature is the raised roof and expanded rear door opening. In addition, even in the standard version, the car can boast a "crossover" ground clearance - 200 mm. In the "off-road" version Extreme, it is supplemented by a plastic body kit around the perimeter of the body. The rear door lost its doors, representing a single lifting element upwards. In all modifications, there are composite luggage rails on the roof, some of which can be folded, turning into crossbars with a carrying capacity of up to 80 kg.

The salon also represents a combination of functionality and practicality. In the "base" it has a 2-row layout, with the rear sofa raised relative to the front seats by 55 mm. In the list of additional equipment, there is a third row, which is located another 25 mm higher than the middle row and is designed to transport two adult passengers. This version offers them folding rear windows. And it is also distinguished by the least spacious luggage compartment - 160 liters with the third row unfolded. The 5-seater version accommodates from 708 to 1819 liters, while the length of the luggage compartment exceeds 1 meter, and in the salon, there are several more niches with a total capacity of 24 liters.

The engine range is even less diverse than that of the Logan, which is due to the concept and increased dimensions of the car. The "basic" versions are equipped with a 1-liter in-line petrol "trio" or its bi-fuel version, capable of running on propane, developing 110 or 101 hp, respectively. In the second case, a 40-liter tank appears in the car, thanks to which the range of this version can be 1100 kilometers. This engine in both versions is combined only with a 6-speed manual transmission. An alternative to it is a hybrid power unit taken from the Clio, representing an in-line petrol "four" with a volume of 1.6 liters, working in "pair" with a starter-generator, which transmit traction to the front axle through a three-shaft 4-speed transmission without a clutch. The total power of this installation is 140 hp. At the same time, its efficiency is significantly limited by the modest capacity of the traction battery - only 1.2 kWh.
