Cupra Ateca – a small crossover from the "Cupra" brand, which has been owned by the VAG concern since 2018. Until this moment, the Spanish SEAT released a whole line of cars under this name. The model is the first crossover under the new brand, which is based on the platform of the similar "Seat" model. The key difference from the "Spanish" is a more powerful engine, complemented by a proprietary German robotic gearbox with two clutches. In fact, this is a sports crossover with high-tech equipment.

Design Features

The car, presented in 2018, stands out for its aggressive-sporty exterior, which is formed by a two-section radiator grille, predatory headlights, four exhaust pipes, and numerous black glossy elements.

In the cabin, there are sports-type seats with natural leather trim. The car is distinguished by its richness of equipment. Already in the "base" it has a fully digital instrument panel (displays not only the main instruments but also can broadcast navigation maps), a modern multimedia system with an 8-inch touch screen, 360 cameras, shock absorbers with electronic control, keyless access, six operating modes of the engine, transmission, suspension, and exhaust system. All this is complemented by four-wheel drive.

A two-liter engine with a turbine and 300 horsepower and 400 Nm acts as a power unit. It is complemented by a DSG gearbox, ensuring smoothness and promptness of gear shifting. In addition to this, a Haldex clutch is installed, which makes it possible to accelerate to a hundred in 5.4 seconds.

Restyling

In 2020, the company carried out a restyling, which changed the front bumper, radiator grille, lighting, both front and rear. The media system is now equipped with a 9.2-inch touch screen and can work with software such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The steering wheel has also undergone changes, on which a separate button has appeared to activate the most "charged" driving mode, as well as another one to start and stop the engine. The power units have hardly changed, only slightly tuned, which allowed making acceleration to a hundred more agile - 4.9 seconds.
