BYD Seal – an electric car with a fastback body, which was presented by a major Chinese manufacturer in 2022. The model is based on a new 3.0 platform, which made it possible to implement many technical innovations.

Exterior

The car is made in the company's signature style, which resembles ocean waves. Its basis is smooth lines and low clearance, which made it possible to achieve an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.219. For comparison, the Tesla 3 has a coefficient of 0.23. In combination with powerful motors, this made it possible to achieve an acceleration rate of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The model is equipped with hidden door handles. Fully LED headlights with modern matrices provide not only excellent visibility at night, but also form a unique look, including from the back.

Interior

The salon features bucket-shaped sports seats, providing maximum comfort. On the front panel, there is a screen of the digital instrument panel, as well as a large 15.6-inch monitor, which is the center of control for not only multimedia but also most functions. Note that it has a rotation function, which is especially convenient when using various third-party applications. To provide spaciousness in the cabin, a huge panoramic roof is provided, occupying almost the entire area. For listening to audio content, there is an advanced Hi-Fi system with 12 speakers.

Technical Features

Among the specifics, we can note the CBT technology, which implies such installation of the battery in the body that it acts as a power structure capable of withstanding increased loads. At the same time, a special Blade battery is used, which is distinguished by a high degree of safety. It can be charged from 30 to 80% in just 26 minutes, provided that a charging power of 150 kW is used.

The front-wheel drive version is equipped with one electric motor, the power of which is 204 horsepower. The all-wheel drive is equipped with two engines, the total power of which is 530 horsepower. The battery can be of two capacities: 61.4 and 82.5 kWh. The maximum range on a single charge is 700 km.

An important innovation is the iTAC system, which provides adjustment of the torque distribution depending on specific conditions. Thanks to this, even on a slippery surface, the car has a predictable trajectory, which eliminates skidding and loss of traction.
