A new chairman has been elected for Nokian Tyres

New CEO and President of Nokian Tyres is Paolo Pompei, who will replace Jukka Moisio and previously worked at Yokohama TWS (acquired by the Japanese Trelleborg Wheel Systems), where he served as President since 2017. Prior to that, Pompei held various leadership positions at Trelleborg Group, and previously also worked at Pirelli, and is currently a member of the Board of the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association (ETRMA).

"I am very pleased that Paolo Pompei will lead Nokian Tyres. He has extensive experience in the tire industry at the international level and has consistently delivered stable and high performance in his previous positions," said Jukka Hienonen, Chairman of the Board of Nokian. "He also has a deep understanding of the markets that are key to Nokian Tyres' development, and he has the experience and capabilities to lead the company to the next level, which will lead to an increase in our turnover to 2 billion euros per year."

Jukka Moisio announced his intention to leave the company on March 27, 2024, and has been leading the company since 2020. Pompei will become the new head of Nokian no later than January 1, 2025.

"For me, it is a great honor to be chosen as the leader of Nokian Tyres - a fantastic company that is currently undergoing a transformation and is targeting stable growth in Central Europe and North America, while also being an industry leader in terms of sustainable development and preparing to open the world's first tire plant with zero carbon emissions in Romania," said Pompei. "Combined with excellent products, high brand value, and leadership in the Nordic countries, this opens up a lot of opportunities for the company, and I look forward to achieving new successes together with the Nokian Tyres team."
