Spring surprises on the roads
According to the calendar, spring has already arrived, although the weather doesn't seem to be in a hurry to catch up. The road conditions, however, appear to be perfectly synchronized with the calendar. The numerous potholes and bumps simply don't give you a chance to drive without powerful blows to the suspension components. It's high time to remind our customers about the potential consequences of spring driving for their wheels.
To start with, let's talk about tires. No matter how hard engineers from manufacturing companies try to improve characteristics such as durability and rolling resistance, a significant part of their efforts is in vain, as tires simply don't survive until the planned end. One of the most common reasons why tires end up in the trash is uneven wear incompatible with operation or irreparable damage. In the vast majority of cases, such damage includes sidewall ruptures, which is nothing but hitting a pothole.
Special attention should be paid to puddles, which will appear almost everywhere as it gets warmer. Puddles mask all road unevenness, and even if you're driving on a familiar route, you need to be extremely vigilant, as the road conditions in the spring period decrease significantly and sharply.
Car rims also suffer from the road quality in the spring. Microcracks gradually lead to the formation of serious damage that makes further operation impossible. Visually, the rim may be perfectly suitable for operation, but it's worth remembering that even for such durable materials as car rims, the term "fatigue" applies. That's why you shouldn't buy used rims, as you can't know their operation history, and in such a difficult period for cars as spring, it can lead to problems on the road. Checking the recommended tire pressure will help protect your rims and tires. Check the pressure in your tires today, and perhaps this simple procedure will save you from wasted time and unnecessary expenses.
