In the USA, tire prices are rising

Following Sumitomo and Goodyear, another company has announced a price increase for tires in the USA. According to a statement from Yokohama Tire Corporation, the American subsidiary of the Japanese Yokohama Rubber, the company will raise the cost of its tires for passenger, commercial, and cargo vehicles on May 1, 2025, with prices increasing by up to 10%.

In Goodyear, the increase in tire prices was justified by "growing costs", in Sumitomo - by the introduction of new import duties, and Stan Changi, the operating director of YTC, noted that prices will be increased due to "unprecedented growth in material and finished product costs".
