Trelleborg Expands Presence in Brazil
Trelleborg Tires, part of Yokohama Trelleborg Wheel Systems (Yokohama TWS), has announced the expansion of its presence in the Brazilian market through a new partnership agreement with John Deere, a major manufacturer of agricultural and other specialized equipment.
Under the terms of the new deal, which was signed during the Sao Paulo Agrishow agricultural exhibition in May of this year, John Deere will offer Trelleborg agricultural tires at all 300 of its dealerships across the country. The agreement officially came into force in July, and Trelleborg intends to supply its new partner with around 700 items from its product range.
Trelleborg notes that in the future, it plans to continue expanding its presence in Brazil, where the main demand from end-users is for tires suitable for use during the harvesting of sugarcane and grain, which account for 60% of the company's sales in the country.
"The idea is to increase our market share and boost tire sales to small and medium-sized farms through our partnership with John Deere," said Marcelo Natalini, President of Yokohama TWS in South America.
Trelleborg has been operating in Brazil for over 30 years, and the company says it intends to continue monitoring the development of the local agricultural sector, which is of great importance on the international market, and make efforts to better meet the needs of Brazilian farmers.
