Continental tires are approved for Porsche Panamera

Porsche has approved Continental tires of three models for equipping the updated sports sedan Panamera. The summer tires Continental SportContact 7, all-season ProContact RX, and winter WinterContact TS 860 S have passed homologation, the tire manufacturer's press service reported.

Continental SportContact 7 is a UHP class tire designed specifically for sports driving and, as the company emphasizes, has received high ratings in numerous independent tests for its good handling characteristics and short braking distances. In 2023, the SC7 won tests from publications such as Auto Bild Sportscars, Auto Zeitung, and Gute Fahrt, which gave it "Exemplary" and "Highly Recommended" ratings.

Compared to the previous generation tires (SportContact 6), braking efficiency on wet and dry surfaces has been increased by 8 and 6%, respectively, and the manufacturer adds that handling in various weather conditions has also been improved. For the Panamera, tires suitable for use at speeds over 300 km/h and bearing the XL marking are supplied, meaning they can withstand increased loads.

Continental ProContact RX represents all-season tourist tires designed with an emphasis on increasing traction and braking efficiency on dry and wet roads, while precise reactions to steering wheel turns improve handling, and a special rubber compound has increased ride smoothness.

Finally, the winter Continental WinterContact TS 860 S, which can be purchased from Porsche dealers and tire retailers, is designed to provide an optimal level of safety on dry and wet asphalt, as well as on snow. The tire belongs to the "European" category, meaning it is not intended for northern winters.

For the Panamera, the tires were approved in the following sizes (the ND0 marking indicates that the tires were developed for Porsche, and FR (Felgen Ripen) indicates the presence of rim protection):
