Check your pressure — save money

When preparing for a long car trip on the eve of a long weekend or vacation, we take a lot of things with us, all family members, and make sure there is enough gasoline. But during a long trip, and especially when fully loaded, it is extremely important to ensure that your tires are also ready for this journey, especially in winter.

Only a small part of drivers know how to properly adjust the tire pressure when conditions or loads change, and this is a guarantee not only of safety but also of optimal fuel consumption. Due to incorrect tire pressure, thousands of tons of fuel are burned unnecessarily every year. It is recommended to spend just 5 minutes every month checking the pressure against the recommended one, and then you will be able to optimize your fuel expenses by at least 5%. This is especially worth considering if you drive long distances. In this case, it is recommended to adjust the internal pressure according to the full load indicators, even if your car is only partially loaded. And, of course, this should be done if you have 100% loading. In this case, you will not only significantly optimize fuel consumption but also reduce the likelihood of uneven wear and, more likely, reduce the risk of tire damage.

Regularly check the tire pressure - once a month and before each long trip, including the spare wheel. Tire pressure should be checked when the tires are "cold" (the car has not been in operation for at least three hours). The correct tire pressure can be found in the car's operating manual, on the fuel tank cover, or on the driver's side door edge. Tire pressure should be the same on the tires of each axle but may differ on the front and rear axles. And don't forget to tightly close the valve caps to protect the valve from salt and dirt in the winter, which will prevent the cap from freezing
