Prinx Chengshan joined the UN Global Compact

Prinx Chengshan Holdings has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), which "demonstrates the company's commitment to the principles of sustainable development and our deep sense of social responsibility as a leading tire manufacturer".

In Prinx Chengshan, they emphasize that "the development of the company is inseparable from environmental protection and social responsibility", and joining the UNGC means that the tire manufacturer will now "more actively implement the 10 principles of the initiative and strive to lead the tire industry on the path of sustainable development".

"We consider 'green' development an important business strategy, as a result of which Prinx Chengshan is constantly increasing investments in the development of 'green' technologies, improving the environmental safety of tire products, as well as reducing carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumption", the company adds.

By 2030, Pinx Chengshan intends to reduce CO2 emissions per ton of product (including retreaded tires) by 27% compared to 2021. In addition, it is planned to triple the production of electricity using solar panels, and by 2025, the share of low-rolling-resistance tires is expected to increase to 45 and 50% in the truck and passenger segments, respectively.

"Prinx Chengshan hopes to cooperate with partners through the UNGC platform and intends to contribute to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030", the company concluded.

Earlier, other tire manufacturers, such as Nokian, Sailun, Nexen, Sumitomo, etc., also joined the UNGC.
