PremiumContact 7. Is it worth overpaying?
In this summer season, the new tire Continental PremiumContact 7 is available for purchase. As has already become clear, due to the lack of direct supplies to Russia, the tire will be significantly more expensive than it could be and much more expensive than cheap tires of Chinese brands. Whether it's worth overpaying for it, we'll discuss in this article.
First of all, it should be noted that the PremiumContact line tires have always had high characteristics and if they did not take the first places in tests, then they practically always got into the top three strongest tires. So it was expected that the new model would not be an exception to the rule. Below, we provide a comparison of four main parameters of the current test from the German publisher ADAC. We added to the comparison both premium tires of other brands and popular Korean and Chinese brands.
The test clearly shows that the Continental PremiumContact 7 tire is perfectly balanced. The strongest side of this model is braking on a wet surface. According to this parameter, Continental significantly outperforms all competitors. While outstanding performance on a wet surface practically always reduces performance on a dry surface, as these are absolutely opposite characteristics requiring different solutions, this model manages to outperform everyone on a dry surface as well. Aquaplaning is at the level of competitors, as is fuel consumption with a slight lag behind two models.
Returning to the question of whether it's worth overpaying for the new model, each person should answer for themselves. But in our opinion, the tire definitely deserves attention and should be considered for purchase.
