New all-weather tires from Goodyear are presented

Goodyear has conducted a presentation of the Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 2 tire in Akron, Ohio, USA, which, according to the company, "will set a new standard for efficiency in the all-season segment due to its unparalleled efficiency in any weather conditions."

To confirm its claims, Goodyear compared the new product with similar products from competitors: Bridgestone WeatherPeak, Michelin CrossClimate 2, and Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive. The company did not disclose the full test results, only stating that their tires outperformed the competitors in terms of handling on dry and wet surfaces and braking on wet surfaces, making them "the ideal choice for year-round use." It is worth noting that the tires are designed for regions with warm winters, not for the northern climate.

Goodyear adds that the new tires are manufactured using All-Weather Technology and "are made from a universal rubber mixture that easily adapts to any weather conditions," while the directional tread pattern is designed for rapid water and slush dispersion, and the Evolving Traction grooves, whose width increases as the tread wears out, provide stable traction on wet roads over time. Additionally, the tires have a snowflake marking, meaning they meet the requirements for snow performance in accordance with the US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

According to Anne Johnson, Goodyear's director of strategy and planning, "the new Assurance WeatherReady 2 will change the perception of what drivers can expect from all-season tires, thanks to advanced technologies and excellent handling, reflecting our unwavering commitment to innovation." "This is the perfect option for those who need tires that can provide maximum traction and control in any weather conditions," she added.

The tires are also manufactured using the TreadLock technology (interlocking lamellas improve handling), and the design has been improved to reduce vibrations and noise. Additionally, wear sensors are provided to monitor the tread depth. The warranty mileage is 95,000 km.

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 2 will be produced in 58 sizes with diameters from 16 to 22 inches, suitable for a wide range of popular vehicles on the American market, such as the Kia Telluride, GMC Acadia, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mercedes GLE, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Camry, Honda Accord, and others.
