Pirelli developed tires for the AUDI E7X crossover
Pirelli has developed a special version of its UHP tyres, Pirelli P Zero (PZ5), for the electric SUV AUDI E7X, the second model in the AUDI lineup created by the German automaker in collaboration with SAIC for the Chinese market.
During the development of the E7X tyres, engineers used virtual design technologies from the outset, combining artificial intelligence with Pirelli’s patented algorithms. According to the company, this significantly improved the tyres’ performance characteristics. The construction, tread pattern, and rubber compound were further optimized to suit the specific features of the electric vehicle, enhancing braking efficiency and steering responsiveness during manoeuvring.

The tyres were developed at Pirelli’s research center in Shandong and are manufactured at the company’s local factory in the same region. Pirelli states that producing custom-designed products domestically enables them to offer Chinese automakers solutions optimally tailored to their specific requirements.

Pirelli P Zero tyres are fitted on the E7X in sizes 255/45 R22 at the front and 285/40 R22 at the rear, and carry the Elect marking, which Pirelli uses for tyres specifically designed for electric and hybrid vehicles. The tyres also feature PNCS (Pirelli Noise Cancelling System) technology, reducing cabin noise thanks to an integrated layer of sound-absorbing material. Homologation for Audi is indicated by the RO marking on the sidewalls.
