Pirelli has developed tires for the Nio ES9 electric crossover

Pirelli, by special order, developed tires for the Nio ES9 - a flagship crossover of the representative class from the Chinese brand, built on a 900-volt architecture and featuring a spacious three-row interior.

For the ES9, summer Pirelli P Zero (PZ5) tires of sizes 275/45 R22 and 275/40 R23 were prepared. The latter features an additionally reinforced structure (with HL marking on the sidewalls), which increases the load capacity and makes them optimally suitable for large-sized vehicles, including electric ones. Additionally, in both sizes, the tires are made using the PNCS technology, meaning that a layer of sound-absorbing material is placed inside the cavity, reducing the noise level in the cabin. Pirelli notes that thanks to close cooperation with Nio specialists, the tires provide not only improved acoustic comfort but also optimal handling and effective braking.

The tires are also marked with the "Elect" label, which Pirelli uses to denote products that have been modified with the characteristics of electric and hybrid vehicles in mind. According to the manufacturer, these tires can withstand the loads associated with the increased weight of the vehicle and prevent wheel spin during acceleration when subjected to a torque of up to 700 Nm. At the same time, the reduced rolling resistance increases the electric vehicle's range.
