Pirelli has developed exclusive tyres for DTM

The next season of DTM starts on April 24 at the Red Bull Ring in Austrian Spielberg, where the debut of new Pirelli tires will take place, created specifically for the German touring car championship and featuring, among other things, an exclusive sidewall design.

The tires are designed to reliably operate in a wide range of conditions in accordance with the specific features of the DTM format, and their production is carried out at Pirelli's technological center in Brehburg (Germany) using the know-how of the company's racing division, which is applied at all stages, including the processing of semi-finished and finished products. Special materials and optimized processes should provide stable tire characteristics, which are also equipped with radio frequency tags, allowing them to be tracked with high accuracy in accordance with the 2026 regulations and ensuring equal conditions for participants.

"DTM puts particularly tough demands on tires due to the high level of competition, the sprint format, and the variety of tracks," said Matteo Braga, Pirelli's track racing manager. "We are proud to have developed exclusive tires that meet all the requirements of this world-famous racing series. The tires consistently maintain their characteristics and are versatile, ensuring a fair fight, and in addition, we are introducing new technologies and materials that confirm Pirelli's high standards in motorsport. Each race is crucial for gaining knowledge and is a test for our technologies, which constantly stimulates us to improve and seek new innovative solutions."

Thomas Foss, Director of ADAC Motorsport, added that in its class, DTM is the series with the highest level of competition in the world, and "the appearance of new exclusive Pirelli tires, allowing participants to fight at the highest level, will be an important step in the development of the championship."

The tires feature the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) logo, indicating that all natural rubber used (17% of the tire's mass) was obtained from plantations managed with consideration for biodiversity conservation and the interests of local communities. Additionally, FSC standards guarantee that certified materials are separated from non-certified ones throughout the supply chain from plantations to tire factories, and the same symbol is also found on Pirelli's Formula 1 tires.

Pirelli has been supplying tires for DTM since 2023, and the company emphasizes that motorsport remains an important platform for creating and testing technological innovations.

The new DTM season will consist of eight stages, which will take place in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
