Pirelli to conduct 500th Grand Prix in Formula 1

The Dutch Grand Prix of the Formula 1 championship, which will take place next weekend, will have special significance for Pirelli, as it will be the company's 500th race in the series as a tire supplier.

Pirelli made its debut in F1 exactly 75 years ago during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, which also marked the start of the first World Championship in this class. At that time, Pirelli tires were fitted to eight cars, including the Alfa Romeo of drivers Giuseppe Farina, Luigi Fagioli, and Reg Parnell, who took the first three places. After that, Pirelli's participation in the championship can be divided into three stages: from 1950 to 1958, from 1981 to 1991 (except for 1987 and 1988), and from 2021 to the present day.

To mark the anniversary Grand Prix in Zandvoort, celebratory events will take place, which will continue a week later in Monza (Italy) at the stage where Pirelli is the title sponsor, and in the Netherlands, the inscription 500 GP will be placed on all cars and tires.
