Pirelli equips the Porsche 911 GT3
Tires Pirelli from the P Zero line in specially developed versions, previously approved for the entire Porsche 911 family, are now also included in the equipment of the latest generation 911 GT3 model. Pirelli P Zero R tires and more sports-oriented semi-slicks P Zero Trofeo RS are supplied, and the homologation is indicated by the letter "N" on the sidewalls, the tire company's press service reported.
Pirelli P Zero R, like all other tires in this series, are designed for sports car owners, and their feature is that due to balanced characteristics, they are optimally suited for everyday use. The tires for the 911 GT3 have a new rubber compound that increases grip in various conditions, including on wet roads, and the manufacturer emphasizes that due to the wider operating window, the tires are distinguished by versatility, which is of great importance on public roads. In addition, the design of the tires for the front and rear axles differs, and in the first case, the tires are optimized for improved handling sensitivity, and in the second case, for increased durability and ability to withstand increased loads.
In turn, the P Zero Trofeo RS is the most sports-oriented in the line and is designed to provide maximum grip on racing tracks, and Pirelli says that their main advantage is that they not only guarantee high grip and improved control but also maintain their effectiveness over a long period, allowing the car's potential to be fully realized.
When creating the tires, the experience of developing an exclusive version of the P Zero Trofeo RS for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS was used, and although this is a niche product, Pirelli has created special variants for various Porsche models, from the 911 GT3 RS - the most extreme sports car in the brand's road line - to the Taycan Turbo GT, a high-performance electric car.
P Zero R and P Zero Trofeo RS for the 911 GT3 RS were developed in accordance with the Perfect Fit strategy, under which Pirelli creates custom-made tires for each car. Among other things, the use of new virtual simulation technologies in Pirelli's research centers in Milan (Italy) and Breuberg (Germany) allowed for a 30% reduction in the development and testing time of physical prototypes.
