«Omskshina» (part of the «Cordiant» holding) has summed up its participation in the federal project «Clean Air» for 2019-2024, reporting that comprehensive measures to reduce harmful emissions have allowed the company to reduce the environmental burden by more than 20%.

Last year, the plant completed several large-scale environmental projects, such as the technical re-equipment of the preparation workshop with the launch of a modern rubber mixing unit and the modernization of the boiler house, with a total investment of over 860 million rubles.

The implementation of the projects was carried out in accordance with the plan of measures approved by the Russian government as part of the reduction of pollutant emissions in Omsk, and the tire manufacturer notes that the environmental burden per unit of production has been reduced by 22%.

Larisa Grishina, General Director of «Omskshina», said that «as a result of the measures taken, the enterprise was able to reach the planned indicator of the national project «Ecology» and the federal project «Clean Air» to reduce the total volume of emissions, which, according to the requirements, should have been at least 20%. In addition, we continue to work on landscaping the territory, which also has a positive impact on the air quality in the city of Omsk and in the Oktyabrsky district in particular».

«Cordiant» includes five tire plants, two of which are located in Omsk: «Cordiant-Vostok» and «Omskshina», which produce passenger car tires (Cordiant and Tunga brands) and tires for trucks, buses, trolleybuses, and special equipment (Omskshina and Tyrex CRG brands). The total production capacity of the enterprises is over 5.3 million tires per year.
