Review of the first premium tires from Belarus
"Belshina" enters a new segment for itself, namely the "premium" segment, and the first two tires for the new market will be the summer Belshina Artmotion Premium and the non-studded winter Belshina Artmotion Snow Premium, both of which differ from previously released Bobruisk tires, including the design of the sidewalls, made using traditional Belarusian ornaments.
As previously stated by Andrey Kanonik, Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs of JSC "Belshina", the new tires surpass the products in the company's assortment in terms of load index and speed category, have improved characteristics and operational properties, but their cost will be lower than the prices for comparable quality products from competitors.
The summer tire Artmotion Premium has a tread pattern with wide ribs that increase the stiffness of the tread and reduce the displacement of its elements under load, which improves handling accuracy.
The tread pattern also includes large longitudinal grooves and channels with inclined walls that provide water drainage from the contact patch with the road, reducing the risk of aquaplaning, and the company notes that the tread design also improves directional stability.
In the shoulder areas, narrow grooves are located at an equal distance from the central rib, which, according to the manufacturer, contributes to a reduction in noise, while the tire design has been optimized to increase fuel efficiency.
Initially, the tires will be available in five sizes: 185/65 R15, 195/65 R15, 205/55 R16, 215/65 R16, and 205/50 R17, and Kanonik noted that in the future, it is planned to expand the line and add larger diameters up to 20 inches.
Not so long ago, it was also reported that the Artmotion Premium (PS-105) tire in size 205/50 R17 was developed at the request of CJSC "Belji" for equipping the S50 car (analog of the Geely Emgrand sedan), and the corporate publication "Shinnik" noted that "the new tread pattern of the Artmotion Premium tire line was developed taking into account the world technical trends in tire design for vehicles and the degree of popularity in the market. The Artmotion Premium tires will provide reliable operational characteristics on the roads, good stability, handling, and comfort".
The winter tire Artmotion Snow Premium, which is currently undergoing testing in Russia to receive the 3PMSF (three-peak mountain snowflake) marking, has a directional tread pattern with two equally spaced central ribs that increase traction, and diagonally arranged grooves that are responsible for quickly removing snow and mud from the contact area.
In the tread blocks, zigzag-shaped lamellae are located, which increase grip on snowy or icy roads and improve the level of safety in complex winter conditions.
The tires also have a reinforced internal structure, which not only increases their strength but also, in combination with the optimized design of the sidewalls, reduces rolling resistance, providing fuel savings.
The premium-class winter tires from "Belshina" will initially be available in the same sizes as the summer tires.
