New test leader from Michelin

Michelin has presented a new tire in the sports segment for public roads. Michelin Pilot Sport 5 is the next generation of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tire. It's worth noting that the fourth generation has proven itself to be very good and is rightly considered a leader in its segment. Numerous test wins and hundreds of positive and even enthusiastic reviews speak for themselves - the model was a success. What can we expect from the new tire?

Surprisingly, in addition to high traction characteristics, the company's engineers were able to improve the tire's lifespan. This is extremely difficult for sports-oriented tires, as a low lifespan is often a consequence of excellent traction.

How much has the tire's lifespan increased? Tests by the independent organization DEKRA showed that the increase in the previous model was 15% and surpassed competitors by 35%. In real-world driving, test pilots were able to drive the new tire for just over 30,000 kilometers, while the Pilot Sport 4 ran out of its lifespan 4,796 kilometers earlier. An impressive figure for tires in this segment. Especially considering that for some car owners, 5,000 km is a whole season.
