New Off-Road Tires Blackhawk
Sailun conducted a test drive of the new Blackhawk Ridgecrawler R/T off-road tires on a off-road track near Las Vegas, which was announced to be released on the US market in June this year.
The tires were tested by representatives of more than 40 trade companies from the USA and Canada, and Jeremy McIntyre, responsible for planning the company's assortment on the North American market, spoke about Sailun's prospects in the off-road segment.
"We expect significant growth in demand for R/T class tires," he noted. "This year, sales in the R/T and M/T segments have already grown by 9%, but at the same time, the increase in demand for mud tires (M/T) has begun to slow down."
The Blackhawk Ridgecrawler R/T tires entered the US market in 40 sizes with a mounting diameter of 16-22 inches and, like other tires in this class, are designed to combine aggressive design and good off-road capability with quiet and comfortable driving on asphalt. In addition, the tires have a 3PMSF marking, LT sizes have provisions for studs, and the warranty mileage is 72,000 km.
"When we designed this tire, we knew exactly what it should be," McIntyre noted, adding that production is carried out at a plant in Cambodia, which is "the newest and most technologically advanced enterprise of Sailun".
Blackhawk is one of the main brands of Sailun, which has the same price positioning as other company brands. "We strive to offer tires with premium quality at an affordable price," says McIntyre. "We are not a supplier of really cheap tires and never will be. Our products are 20-30% cheaper than tires from top established brands. We have found that this is the ideal positioning for us."
According to the results of the test drive, the guests highly appreciated the new tires. "The characteristics of the tires are really impressive," noted Justin Kinwig, owner of a store in British Columbia (Canada). "We have already sold several sets of Ridgecrawler R/T, and customers respond positively. The tire looks great, and the 3PMSF marking is also very important. Not all R/T tires have it. The price is also very competitive, and we have pickup truck owners who often use off-road tires, and now we can offer them a new high-quality and affordable option."
Matt Pope, a sales representative of Mid-State Wholesale Tire (Minnesota), added that he was also impressed by the high level of traction of the new Blackhawk. "I think the tires will sell well," he said. "Customers need tires with an aggressive design that are not part of the Mud-Terrain class and will not 'howl' on the road."
Blackhawk Ridgecrawler R/T has a tread pattern with large blocks and 3D lamellas, designed for effective operation in any conditions, both summer and winter, while massive treads are located in the shoulder areas, increasing off-road capability and reducing the risk of cuts and other damage when used with reduced pressure during off-road driving.
