New trailer tire: Michelin X Multi T
13 may 2012
The French company Michelin has recently introduced a new trailer tire in Spain - Michelin X Multi T. Its main advantages are improved handling and versatility.
As noted by the manufacturer, this model has all the qualities that are important for tires in its class: durability, even wear, and excellent traction with the road surface. It can be used for both short routes and long-distance transportation. This tire, which can be used in any weather conditions, is intended to replace the Michelin XTE2 in the segment of three-axle semi-trailers.
The FRT (Free Rolling Tyre) marking indicates that the tire can be installed on the driving and steering axles.
One of the features of this tire is its long service life. The manufacturer claims that compared to the previous model of size 385/55R22.5, the Michelin X Multi T will last up to fifteen percent longer. This is due to the unique rubber compound Carbion, which is part of the tread, as well as Michelin's Durable Technologies (MDT).
In addition, the use of this tire allows for a reduction in operating costs due to an increase in cargo volume and weight.
The Michelin X Multi T is also an economical tire, as it reduces fuel consumption. It also has the possibility of tread regeneration. The original tread pattern provides efficient water drainage, reducing the risk of aquaplaning on wet roads and, as a consequence, increasing safety. And the durability of the tire is guaranteed by the reinforced carcass.
It is also worth noting that the Michelin X Multi T is certified to the ISO 14001 environmental management system standard, which confirms the low emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere. In general, Michelin has introduced a very useful innovation.
