Nokian increases capacity in the USA

Nokian Tyres (officially exited the Russian market and sold its production in Vsevolozhsk to Tatneft) is increasing its capacity in the USA, and in October and November, the plant in Dayton, Tennessee, set production records, and the entire 2024 year is expected to be the best for the enterprise in this regard since its opening in 2019.

In 2024, the Tennessee plant increased the production of off-road tires, which allowed the company to fully return to the market such lines as Nokian Outpost nAT and Nokian One HT, which, according to the company, are popular among North American drivers. Additionally, the expansion of production enabled the release of the sixth-generation all-weather tires - Nokian Remedy WRG5, which debuted on the market in January 2024.

In 1999, Nokian introduced its first all-weather tire for passenger cars in the North American market, and in 2024, the company celebrated the 25th anniversary of this event.

"It was a home run, and the numbers are just great," noted Tommy Heinonen, Vice President of Sales for Nokian Tyres North America, regarding the release of the WRG5. "We've been doing all-weather tires for 25 years, so they're a big part of what we do, and we're very proud of them."

In the summer, a highly automated warehouse was opened on the plant's territory, capable of storing several hundred thousand tires. As noted by Nokian, the expansion of storage facilities allows the company to increase its inventory and more efficiently serve customers throughout the region.

Since the plant in Russia was sold, Nokian has begun to increase its capacity not only in the USA but also in Finland, and in early 2025, commercial production will be launched at a new plant in Romania.
