Nokian will change its head on January 1
Nokian Tyres has announced that Paolo Pompei will become the company's president and CEO on January 1, 2025. The decision to appoint Pompei as the head of the Finnish tire manufacturer was announced in July 2024, with the board of directors' decision set to take effect "no later than January 1, 2025".
Jukka Hienonen, Chairman of the Board of Nokian, expressed confidence that under Pompei's leadership, the company "will enter a new phase of development and continue to move towards the goal of increasing turnover to 2 billion euros per year". "In his previous positions, he has achieved stable growth and high financial results," Hienonen said. "He also has extensive experience in the tire industry at the international level and a deep understanding of the Central European and North American markets, which are key to the future growth of Nokian Tyres".
Currently, Pompei is the president of Yokohama TWS, a special tire manufacturer created after the acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems. At Y-TWS, he will be replaced by Elio Bartoli.
