A new director has been appointed to Tengri Tyres

On December 1, 2024, Alexander Ustavshikov will take over as the director of the Tengri Tyres tire plant, located in the city of Saran, Karaganda Region, Kazakhstan, having previously held leadership positions at Ikon Tyres, which, like Tengri, is part of the "Tire Business" division of PJSC "Tatneft", reports Abiznews.

Ustavshikov began his career in the tire industry in 2008, becoming the head of the production and technical department of the Nokian Tyres plant in Vsevolozhsk, which was later transformed into Ikon Tyres. As Ikon says, under his leadership, the plant in the Leningrad Region was able to reach a capacity of 17 million tires per year, which "allowed it to enter the top three most efficient tire manufacturers in the world".

According to Andrey Pantiukhov, the head of the Tire Business Division of Tatneft, "Alexander has successful professional experience, which he acquired in various leadership positions at Ikon Tyres and the Tire Business. I am confident that his deep understanding of production processes and technologies will play a key role in his new role and will enable the Tengri Tyres team to achieve its goals".

In his new position, Ustavshikov will replace Radia Burganov, who has been heading the Saran plant since March 1, 2023, and led the enterprise during the construction and launch period. Serial production of tires under the new Attar brand began in June 2024, and since July, products have been supplied to both dealerships in Kazakhstan and Russia.

From 1995 to 2002, Ustavshikov worked at Coca-Cola, then held leadership positions in the food industry at "Baltimor-Neva", "Lorenzi Group Rus" and "Thermal Equipment". Since August 2008, he has worked at "Nokian Tyres Russia" and later at Ikon Tyres.

Tengri Tyres is a joint venture between Tatneft and the Kazakhstani Allur Group of Companies. The project capacity is 3 million passenger and 500,000 truck tires, and the plant's staff currently numbers 760 people. The Tatneft tire group, in addition to Tengri and Ikon, also includes the Birinchi Rezinotexnika Zavodi (BRZ) plant, located in Angren (Uzbekistan), which produces tires under the Bars brand.
