How much have winter tires risen in price in Russia

In the first half of October, the number of winter tire purchases grew by 18% compared to the same period last year, while the average check increased by 7%, to 6.8 thousand rubles. In the segment of studded tires, the price increased by 8%, to 7.5 thousand rubles, and buyer activity - by 16%, the company "Platform OFD" reported.

In Moscow, the average check for a winter tire was 7.1 thousand rubles (7.9 thousand for a studded tire), and the number of purchases increased by 21%.

Wildberries notes that in the first week of October, sales grew by 30% compared to the end of September, and in cities where there were already frosts, such as St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan, demand increased by half. "Compared to last autumn, demand for the same winter tires on Wildberries has grown by more than half", the company noted, adding that the most popular brands are Cordiant, Sailun, Ikon Tyres (formerly Nokian Tyres), ZMax, "Kama", Tunga and Yokohama.

Platform OFD says that more than 60% of sales come from tires of domestic brands, which is "facilitated by the active development of Russian production and the integration of new technologies". "Including due to Russian production, which is more represented in the mass market segment, the average price range for tires remains at an acceptable level, and in annual price comparisons - below the inflation level", the company adds.
