The EV marking will appear on Nexen tires
Tire manufacturers have reacted differently to the electrification of the automotive market, and, for example, Hankook and Kumho have launched entire new lines of tires for electric cars, while other companies have adapted their products to the characteristics of electric vehicles and equipped them with the corresponding markings, such as Electric Fit (Nokian), Elect (Pirelli) and EV (Continental). The second approach was chosen by Nexen, which from the second half of 2025 will begin to equip its tires with a new symbol called EV Root (because the letter "V" is made in the shape of a square root sign).

The first tire with the new marking was the all-season Nexen N'Fera Supreme EV Root, which is suitable for installation on most electric cars available in Korea and, as the manufacturer emphasizes, works well when used on cars with internal combustion engines.
Nexen N'Fera Supreme EV Root tires belong to the "comfort" category and combine low noise with increased load capacity, which is required due to the increased weight of electric vehicles. Sound-absorbing materials are used in the manufacture of tires, and the HL (High Load) marking confirms that they can withstand high loads. In addition, the square contact patch and 3D lamellae improve handling and reduce braking distances in various weather conditions.
Nexen notes that the N'Fera Supreme EV Root has confirmed that it has higher operating characteristics compared to the previous generation of tires during tests in which the electric crossover Kia EV6 was used. In particular, handling on dry pavement and ride comfort were improved by 13%, and rolling resistance was reduced by 20%.

Nexen is also continuing to introduce new digital technologies into the tire development process and, for example, is improving the AI-based product characteristic prediction system, which allows understanding of such parameters of new tires as fuel efficiency, noise, handling, traction, etc. In addition, Nexen was the first in the Korean automotive industry to use a driving simulator, with which the company tests tires in a virtual environment and optimizes its technical solutions.
