Michelin continues to reduce revenue

In the first half of the year, Michelin's revenue decreased by 3.4%, which generally met analysts' expectations, and the decline in sales in physical terms was partially offset by price increases. The forecast for the whole year was confirmed "provided that the economic situation does not deteriorate in the second half of the year".

Reuters notes that the decline in the automotive market continues to affect Michelin's performance, and since March 2025, the company has been operating under new tariffs introduced by US President Donald Trump. In light of this, the acceleration of investments in the US is being considered to reduce the impact of import duties.

Michelin's sales in the first half of the year fell to 13.03 billion euros, compared to 13.48 billion euros a year earlier. Analysts had expected a decline to 13.08 billion euros. Sales in physical terms decreased by 6.1%, primarily in the OE segment.

The damage from the new US tariffs amounted to around 65 million euros, and it is expected that this figure will be 200 million euros for the whole year.

Earlier, Michelin reported a decline in revenue in both 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.
