Mazda CX-5 is equipped with Yokohama tires

The Mazda CX-5 has been the Japanese brand's best-selling model since 2018, and one of the suppliers of tires for the updated version is Yokohama, which will equip the crossover with tires from two models: in the North American market, the all-season Yokohama Geolandar X-CV has been homologated, while in Japan and a number of other regions, including Europe, the summer Yokohama ADVAN V61 will be used.

The Geolandar X-CV tire belongs to the Highway-Terrain category, meaning it is primarily designed for use on paved roads, but is also capable of handling moderate off-road conditions, and its creation utilized the HAICoLab system based on artificial intelligence, which, according to the company, helped improve the balance between safety, durability, comfort, and fuel efficiency.

The tires have an M+S (Mud+Snow) rating, but there is no snowflake symbol on the sidewalls, so they can only be considered all-seasonal in a very conditional sense. On the CX-5, the tires are fitted in the 225/65 R17 102H size.

In turn, the ADVAN V61 is part of the flagship ADVAN line and is designed with an emphasis on improving ride smoothness and acoustic comfort, making them a good choice for use in both city traffic and during long trips, and since the tires were initially created for crossovers and SUVs, they function optimally when installed on vehicles with increased mass and high center of gravity.

Currently, tires of this model are part of the equipment of numerous SUV category vehicles, and last year the company also began offering a wide range of sizes on the secondary market. For the CX-5, the tires are supplied in the same size as the X-CV, but with a higher speed rating of V (allowing use at speeds up to 240 km/h).
