In the first quarter of 2025, Kumho Tire's sales volume grew by 15.5% compared to the same period in 2024 and reached 1.2 trillion won (840 million dollars), which is a record value for the Korean company. Operating profit decreased by 0.6% to 144.8 billion won (100 million dollars).

According to Kumho's report, the increase in sales was due to the expansion of supplies to the original equipment sector and good demand in the secondary market, including high-margin products. The company's turnover has exceeded 1 trillion won for six consecutive quarters, and in the first three months of 2025, the operating margin was 12% due to the increase in sales of large-diameter tires.

In 2025, Kumho set a goal to receive revenue of 5 trillion won (3.5 billion dollars) and also increase the share of tires with a diameter of 18 inches or more to 46% of sales, while the share of tires for electric cars in supplies to the OE sector should grow to 26%. As of the end of the first quarter, these two indicators were 42.6 and 17.9%, respectively.

This year, Kumho also intends to strengthen its position in the premium segment due to new high-comfort tires Solus Advance, as well as three novelties in the UHP category: Ecsta Sport, Ecsta Sport S and Ecsta Sport A/S. In addition, it is planned to continue optimizing the assortment with a focus on increasing its profitability.

It is expected that in 2025, Kumho will increase its total capacity to 65 million tires through increased production efficiency and expansion of production areas at its eight plants in South Korea, China, the USA, and Vietnam. The company is currently choosing a location for a plant in Europe, with potential locations being Poland, Portugal, and Serbia.
