"Cordiant" is holding a tire design contest

"Cordiant" and "Shukhov Lab", an international project-based educational laboratory for experimental design at the Higher School of Economics, are holding a tire design contest, which was announced at the "School of Industrial Design" conference held in early October with the participation of representatives of the tire holding, including experts from the Intair Research and Development Center.

The contest is being held in four categories: "Best Tire Tread Design", "Best Sidewall Pattern Design", "Best Design Solution", and "Best Original Solution", and Russian and foreign students of the Higher School of Economics and other Russian universities' educational programs can participate, provided they are studying industrial design or related specialties.

The application period will last until October 30, 2024, and the award ceremony will take place in December. The best projects will be determined by a jury consisting of representatives of "Cordiant" (including employees of the Intair Research and Development Center), "Shukhov Lab", the Higher School of Economics, and experts in the field of industrial and automotive design.

Within the company, a separate contest is also being held for young designers from the Intair Research and Development Center, and among the contestants are master's students of the "Tire Production Technology" program, launched by "Cordiant" at the Vyatka State University in September of this year.

"For Russian industrial enterprises, it is especially important today not only to develop internal competencies but also to go beyond the usual boundaries in search of new ideas and the development of professional competencies of employees, creating conditions for the emergence of breakthrough innovations," said Milena Otdelnova, Deputy Director for Prospective Development of the Intair Research and Development Center. "The cooperation between the Cordiant holding and the Shukhov Lab experimental design laboratory at the Higher School of Economics will allow us to get acquainted with the vision of young designers, and students will gain practical experience in creating tire pattern elements that can be launched into production."
