When to Change Rims

In the summer season, it's desirable to give your car a fresh new look, and therefore, car owners often buy not only new tires but also wheels, replacing the old ones that are tired from winter and rain. Today, we'll talk about when changing wheels is not just a desire to update the appearance, but a crucial safety requirement.

First of all, it's worth noting that car wheels have a problem such as metal fatigue. And if visually, you think the wheel is in excellent condition, in reality, it may not be so. Our roads leave much to be desired, and the occurrence of microcracks is inevitable. It is for this reason that wheel damage is likely and extremely dangerous.
The danger lies in the fact that with significant damage, a sudden loss of pressure in the tire is possible. And this is a situation in which an accident is almost inevitable.

If you've inherited used wheels, for example, with the purchase of a car, or you simply bought wheels from someone, you should remember that modern technologies make it possible to repair a wheel that is almost unusable, but its further operation remains extremely dangerous. Multiple wheel repairs, and in some cases, even a wheel assembled from several parts, may be imperceptible, but undesirable consequences can still occur.

Undoubtedly, the region of operation should be taken into account. If you operate a car in a warm climate, there's no problem, but if operation falls in a region with harsh winter conditions, several factors arise that can put the wheels out of commission or significantly shorten their lifespan. The conversation, of course, is about low temperatures and the effects of such means against black ice, like sand or road reagents. In such conditions, wheels quickly lose their protective coating and begin to deteriorate much faster under the influence of loads and impacts.
