Kama Tyres expands the use of eco-friendly materials

The global tire industry is currently transitioning to the use of "green" raw materials, which are either recycled or renewable, and the Kama Tyres tire complex is also working in this direction. In particular, it applies eco-friendly synthetic rubber SSKI-3 in the production of the summer passenger car tire Viatti Strada 2.

During the production of eco-rubber, isobutane is used, which is obtained from the processing of pyrolysis condensate, which in turn is made from used tires, thus creating a closed-loop system and reducing the burden on the environment.

Thanks to the use of "green" rubber, not only are CO2 emissions and the consumption of traditional petroleum products reduced, but also the elasticity and strength of the tire are preserved in various temperature regimes. Kama Tyres also uses secondary raw materials in the production of tires, which also reduces environmental damage and resource consumption, while increasing the environmental friendliness and efficiency of supply chains.

According to Timur Sharipov, Executive Director of Kama TD, the expansion of the use of secondary materials and biomaterials is one of the strategic areas for the tire manufacturer.

"This is not just a trend, but a necessary step towards sustainable development," he emphasizes. "The use of recycled materials will reduce waste, minimize the negative impact on the environment, reduce the consumption of primary resources, such as oil, and create a closed production cycle in which old tires get a second life."

Kama Tyres adds that now the choice of tires by consumers is becoming more conscious, and they consider not only the operational characteristics of the product but also its impact on the environment, which gives an advantage to "green" tires. Viatti Strada 2 has reduced rolling resistance, which reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
