How often can a tire be retreaded?

Tire mounting works are an inevitable procedure for tire operation, and it's during the tire mounting that inexperienced car owners worry the most about their tires, as they are stretched, compressed, and rocked. All these hisses and pops leave no doubt that a tire can withstand a certain number of tire mountings and no more. In some cases, this can even be a reason to have two sets of tires assembled on rims, so as not to subject the tires to unnecessary stress. But this, of course, is not the case, and there's no need to worry.

The greatest stress for a tire occurs when removing and installing rim rings from the "humps" of the disk. It is for this purpose that a lever mechanism is applied when removing, at which time the tire is slightly deformed and characteristic pops are heard when installing, as the rim rings of the tire literally jump over the "humps" of the disk to fix them. At first glance, there's nothing useful for the tire here. In fact, the qualification of the tire mounting master is of great importance in this process. The tire and rim rings are strong enough, but nevertheless, there are cases when the rubber is damaged in the area of the rim ring, or the rim rings manage to tear. The first thought that arises, of course, is that it's a tire defect, but in fact, it's the master's mistake.

There can be many reasons for the mistake: incorrect tire position during mounting, too little mounting paste. As a result, the tire suffers. Moreover, there is no connection between the number of times and the likelihood of damage. One incorrect move is enough, and the tire can receive absolutely irreparable damage. That's why you can't save money on tire mounting services. Beware of tire mounting shops that appear for 1-2 seasons. Trust your safety to professionals.
