Irnitu tested Cordiant tires

Representatives of the NTs "Intair" (part of the "Cordiant" holding) visited the Irkutsk National Research Technical University (IRNITU), which conducted tests of automobile tires for the company, reported the university's press service.

According to Professor Alexander Fedotov, at the end of last year, NTs "Intair" handed over tires to the university for testing. The university received tires of its own production from "Cordiant", as well as Continental and Nankang, which were tested on a drum stand created on the basis of the Department of Automobile Transport. Specialists studied the features of the tire that affect handling and stability, and the design of the stand was modified taking into account the requests of "Cordiant". In total, 16 tire samples were tested over six months.

After the successful tests, the rector of the university was visited by the head of NTs "Intair" Dmitry Golubev and the head of the advanced development department of the company Alexander Kapustin, who were shown the operation of the stand.

"The company is interested in expanding cooperation with IRNITU. We are interested in joint work on modernizing existing methods and creating an additional stand for testing tire wear resistance, — noted Dmitry Golubev. — I saw for the first time in my life how a car is checked on a stand in a lateral skid mode. I am proud that in Russia there are specialists who can make such devices».

Alexander Kapustin added that cooperation with IRNITU began two years ago. "In one of the scientific sources, we learned that in Irkutsk there is a team that can solve very complex problems for our industry. So it turned out. After working with the Irkutsk team, we intend to bring the product characteristics up to the standards of imported benchmarks, — he said. — We are interested in increasing the volume of research material and expanding the list of tests together with the Irkutsk Polytechnic».

Representatives of the company attended a presentation of the Department of Automobile Transport, and Professor Alexander Fedotov and Associate Professor Oleg Yankov spoke about the research developments that the team has been conducting since 1982 in Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude. It is noted that the employees of "Intair" were interested in the prospect of testing tires on a road tire tester designed by the polytechnic team on the basis of the "Ural" car.
