Goodyear is cutting hundreds of jobs
Goodyear announced a "new stage of strategic business transformation in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), aimed at simplifying operations, reducing internal complexity and creating a more customer-centric organization".
The proposed measures, which will still be discussed with social partners, will result in a reduction of around 600 jobs in sales and support departments, and as part of the creation of a new business model, 200 jobs will also be created.
As noted by Goodyear's Managing Director for the region, Jan-Piet van Kesteren, "the next stage of transformation is crucial for our future growth and meeting customer needs". "The analysis showed that further reduction of internal complexity is essential for Goodyear's long-term success", he added.
In Goodyear, they emphasize that production jobs are not expected to be affected, and customer service work will continue as usual.
"By simplifying our internal processes, we can redirect our efforts to what matters most to our customers, namely providing them with quality products and reliable service," van Kesteren said. "We would like to thank our employees for their unwavering dedication and professionalism".
