Goodyear has developed a new eco-tire

Goodyear has started selling the new Goodyear EcoReady tires on the American market, which are 70% made from eco-friendly materials, such as soybean oil, which has reduced the use of petroleum-based oils. Silica from rice husk ash, an agricultural waste, and natural rubber, obtained in accordance with sustainable development principles, are also used.

"Thanks to close cooperation with suppliers and working as a single team, we were able to introduce the EcoReady tire, which is 70% made from eco-friendly materials, to the market," said Mark Stewart, CEO and President of Goodyear. "The release of this product, which is now available for purchase in the US, has brought us one step closer to achieving our goal of introducing the industry's first tire made entirely from eco-materials by 2030."

The EcoReady tires have an asymmetric design, which, according to the manufacturer, improves stability on dry roads and helps maintain traction on wet surfaces, and the tread pattern has also been optimized to reduce noise. In the American market, the tires are positioned as suitable for use throughout the year.

The EcoReady tires are available in two sizes: 235/45 R18 and 255/45 R19, with prices ranging from $275 to $330.
