Giti supported the new mileage of Rainer Zietlow

The 80,000 km long journey will cover around 75 countries in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Latin and North America and will take more than eight months, and the car will be equipped with Giti GitiSynergy H2 tires of sizes 235/60 R18 at the front and 255/55 R18 at the back, which are supplied for its original equipment in accordance with the agreement signed with VWCV in September 2023.
Prior to the agreement with VW, Giti tires were already being fitted to electric vehicles in Europe, and the company intends to take the opportunity of the Guinness World Record attempt to demonstrate the level of its technology in this segment, the efficiency of the tires in real-world conditions, and its commitment to ensuring the durability and environmental friendliness of its products.
The GitiSynergy H2 tires have an A/A labeling in the EU labeling system, and the tread is made from a new rubber compound developed, as the company claims, to significantly reduce rolling resistance without compromising wear resistance and key safety parameters such as braking efficiency and handling on wet and dry roads.
The new trip started on July 1 at the VW office in Hanover (Germany), and the first stage will cover all major cities in Europe.
"This will be a massive adventure, and I'm proud to have Giti as my tire partner," said Zietlow, who has already been included in the Guinness Book of Records eight times, and Stefan Bros, Giti's European marketing director, added that "this is the first world record electric car trip for Rainer, which takes place with the support of Giti Tire and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, which confirms the commitment of our brands to innovation and sustainable development".
According to Bros, the partnership with Zietlow will be "a great opportunity for us to strengthen Giti's leadership in the electric vehicle tire market and increase brand awareness worldwide". Giti has been cooperating with the Volkswagen Group for more than 15 years and supplies tires for passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as crossovers, under the VW, Ceat, and Skoda brands.
