Continental introduced a new flagship model for the Asian market
Continental has added new summer tires Continental ExtremeContact XC7 to its range, which will become the company's flagship model in the Asian market, as well as the first product from the German brand to be manufactured with ContiSeal and ContiSilent technologies in all sizes.
Tires made using the ContiSeal technology feature a sticky and viscous sealing layer that quickly seals punctures up to 5 mm in diameter (or up to 80% of punctures, according to Continental), and the company emphasizes that this feature remains effective at temperatures ranging from -35 to 70℃ throughout the entire tire life. At the same time, the ContiSilent technology involves a polyurethane foam "pad" located inside the tire, which reduces noise levels. The company also notes that the ContiSeal technology, in addition to its other benefits, increases the weight of the tire's inner part, reducing vibrations and contributing to noise reduction.

"Continental has gained a deep understanding of consumer expectations, and with the release of ExtremeContact XC7, we can make driving even safer and more comfortable," said Tolga Mutlu, Director of Product Management for the company's Asia-Pacific region. "One of the key technologies used is ContiSeal, which continuously increases the level of safety and has earned a high reputation worldwide."
The key market for ExtremeContact XC7 will naturally be China, where Continental is partnering with Tuhu, the country's largest online platform for automotive retail with over 100 million subscribers, and it was decided to exclusively present the new product on this platform.
Given China's climate, where many regions experience frequent rainfall, the new tires feature a tread pattern optimized for increased safety on wet roads. In particular, the Aqua Channel Advanced lamellas accelerate water drainage, while the zigzag-shaped grooves with a complex shape and the Blade Edge Pattern technology's grip edges cut through the water film, reducing the likelihood of skidding.
In China, the tires have been released in 34 sizes with diameters ranging from 17 to 20 inches, and the manufacturer claims they are designed for luxury passenger cars and SUVs, among other vehicles.
