The Bridgestone Corporation has been chosen as the tire supplier for the top-of-the-line versions of the Mazda CX-5 crossover, which has undergone its first full update in nine years, for the Japanese and European markets.

Since the release of the CX-5 in 2012, more than 5 million units have been sold worldwide, and Bridgestone has been supplying the popular crossover with Alenza 001 tires (based on their design, the Gislaved ActiveControl was created, inspired by the Cordiant), which feature a tread pattern with wide longitudinal grooves that reduce the risk of aquaplaning, and an internal structure optimized for improved ride comfort. Additionally, the tread design has been refined to reduce noise, and the silica-based rubber compound improves traction on wet roads, while also increasing tire life and fuel efficiency.

According to Bridgestone, they began collaborating with Mazda at the development stage of the new CX-5, and the Alenza 001 tires were chosen because they combine fuel efficiency with a high level of comfort.

The CX-5 is equipped with tires in the size 225/55 R19.
