Hankook Tire has become the supplier of tires for the factory equipment of the medium-sized electric liftback BMW i4, which, according to the manufacturer's terminology, belongs to the category of Gran Coupe.

For the new BMW i4, which is an updated version of the model released in 2022, two Hankook tires were approved, one of which is the Hankook iON Supreme — the latest novelty in the iON line for electric vehicles and has not been previously presented in either the primary or secondary market.

Hankook iON Supreme belongs to the Ultra-High Performance class and is suitable for operation at high speeds, and in Hankook they say that the iON Innovation Technology package has made it possible to combine four characteristics that are key in the segment of tires for electric vehicles, namely confident grip, increased wear resistance, reduced noise level, and improved energy efficiency.

The tires are also made using Grip Boost technology, which increases the transverse stiffness of the tires and stability when cornering, while the breaker, reinforced with ultra-strong aramid fibers, improves handling at high speeds, and the optimized tread pattern with a drainage system reduces the braking distance on both dry and wet roads.

For the BMW i4, the Hankook iON evo tires were also approved, which recently took first place in a specialized test of tires for electric vehicles conducted by the German magazine Auto Bild, and in 2024 received awards from the British portal WhatTyre (designed to compare car tires according to a number of characteristics), which recognized them as the best in their class and the best tires of the year in general.

Hankook is actively developing its partnership with BMW, supplying tires for both internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles, and not so long ago the company also began to equip the new BMW X3 crossover and the seventh-generation BMW M5 sports sedan, which "has increased the premium nature of its global integrated brand".

The collaboration between Hankook and BMW began in 2011 with supplies for Mini cars, after which tires of the Korean brand were approved for BMW models of the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and seventh series, as well as for the M4 GT4, X3 M, and X4 M.

On the BMW i4, the Hankook iON Supreme and iON evo tires are installed in sizes with a diameter of 19 and 20 inches, respectively. The approval is indicated by the marking with a star symbol on the sidewalls.
