BKT Carbon goes international
Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) announced that its subsidiary, BKT Carbon, which specializes in the production of technical carbon, will participate in the leading plastics and rubber exhibition K 2025, which will take place from October 8 to 15 in Düsseldorf, Germany, and will present its products on an international level for the first time.
“Participation in K 2025 is a very important event, as we will be participating in the exhibition for the first time as a global supplier of specialized technical carbon. For us, this is not only the beginning of a new path, but also a decisive stage in entering key markets with our innovative, wide and eco-friendly range,” said Madhusudan Bajaj, Senior President/Director and Financial Director of BKT Carbon.
The company's stand will feature carbon-based solutions for a wide range of applications, including the production of agricultural film, cables, plastics, auto components, inks, coatings, and rubber compounds.
BKT Carbon manufactures technical carbon at its plant in Bhuj (India), where tire products are also produced, and the company claims that due to the implemented technologies, CO2 emissions at the entire site have been reduced by more than 2 million kg per year. In addition, BKT Carbon is considering the use of alternative fuels such as liquefied petroleum gas, biogas, etc. to further reduce the environmental impact.
According to the five-year development plan, BKT Carbon intends to increase its capacity from 200 to 360 thousand tons by 2026, with a special focus on high-performance technical carbon brands. "For us, production growth also means increased responsibility," the company emphasizes, adding that "each new production line will be designed with further improvement of environmental and efficiency standards in mind, which will allow us to refine the production cycle, initially focused on productivity and low environmental impact".
BKT is a major manufacturer of tires for special equipment, and in the future, it is planned to also start producing tires for trucks and passenger cars.
