Auto Bild tested all-season tires in size 225/50 R17
Auto Bild magazine has revealed the results of the qualifying stage of the all-season tire test, whose popularity in Europe is not weakening, but only gaining momentum. In the qualifying round, 37 models of various price categories from "premium" to "economy" in size 225/50 R17 took part, and to get into the main part of the tests, they had to demonstrate good braking qualities on wet and dry asphalt.
Braking was carried out from 100 km/h, and as a result of the qualification, 15 of the best tires were selected, which will compete for victory in the main test, while the results of eight tires were found to be unsatisfactory. The first place was taken by Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6, and its braking distance on a wet surface was 31.6 meters (!) shorter than that of the tire in the last row - Royal Black Royal A/S II. This is a product of Shandong Haohua Tires, which also produces Lanvigator tires, which took third place from the end in the test.
The list of disqualified tires also included, for example, Westlake All Season Elite Z-401 from ZC Rubber, the largest Chinese tire manufacturer, but this does not mean that Chinese companies cannot make "all-season" tires at all, and the main part of the test was able to get the model Grip Master 4S, manufactured by Linglong and outperformed tires from such brands as Kumho, Nexen, Nokian, etc.
