Description Yokohama TY287
The commercial tire Yokohama TY287 is installed on the steering axle, but can also be used on the driving axle. It is designed for urban and regional transportation, including passenger transportation. It is characterized by increased economic efficiency, reducing operating costs due to the possibility of year-round application, fuel efficiency, and high mileage. The manufacturer recommends it for joint use with the SY397 model for the driving axle.
The tread pattern is distinguished by large sizes and a large number of blocks. In the central part, they have a complex shape, which increases both the number and length of the formed gripping edges. Most of them are located transversely, which increases the traction force, especially on dirt and snow-covered roads. In the shoulder zones, the blocks are paired and have a shape close to trapezoidal. This design makes the contact patch wider, improving traction on dry roads and preventing uneven wear. The edges formed by the shoulder blocks provide stability during maneuvering and braking.
The tread is made of a rubber compound, the physico-chemical properties of which were selected with regard to year-round operation. It is characterized by elasticity at negative temperatures, ensuring stable traction on winter roads. At the same time, special components give the tread high strength against rupture and stretching, reducing the rate of wear and the risk of puncture or cutting.
