Description Yokohama RL51
The Yokohama RL51 cargo tire is one of the novelties of the Japanese manufacturer, designed for mining and construction wheeled equipment. This model is produced in one size - 23.5R25.
Japanese tire makers have equipped the new quarry model with a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern. Thanks to the non-directional design of the tread pattern, the tire demonstrates high traction and coupling characteristics, both when moving forward and when moving backward. The tire's tread consists of polygonal blocks with massive sizes. The large number of angles and sharp edges allows for reliable and stable coupling in any conditions. At the same time, the massive size of the tread blocks contributes to the optimal distribution of pressure on the contact patch, which not only improved the tread's resistance to uneven wear but also significantly reduced the load on the ground.
Both shoulder zones of the tread have two rows of separate blocks, the large height of which allows the tire to feel more confident on such coatings as sand and mud. At the same time, the Yokohama RL51 tire demonstrates excellent self-cleaning characteristics of the tread, which was achieved due to the sufficiently large distance between the tread blocks.
Another feature of the new model is the reduced rolling resistance. This was made possible due to the arrangement of the tread blocks, which form a longitudinal rib in the central part of the tread. In addition, the tread blocks are arranged with a variable pitch relative to each other, which significantly expands the capabilities of the tire when moving on hard surfaces.
Main features of the Yokohama RL51 model
- A symmetrical non-directional tread pattern adapted to harsh operating conditions allows for equally high traction and coupling characteristics on sand, gravel, stones, and in mud, both when moving forward and backward.
- Massive tread blocks provide more even distribution of pressure on the contact patch, which not only increased the tread's resistance to wear but also increased stability when moving on unstable soils;
- Low rolling resistance due to the arrangement of tread blocks forming a longitudinal rib in the center of the tread;
- High block height in the shoulder zones of the tread, which significantly improved passability in sand and mud;
- Excellent self-cleaning characteristics of the tread due to the large distance between the tread blocks.
