Description Yokohama RL45
The Yokohama RL45 truck tire is designed for special wheeled vehicles that operate underground - articulated dump trucks, loaders, etc. This model is produced in two standard sizes - 26.5R25 E2 and 26.5R25 L1.
Since the tire is designed to operate in rather specific conditions underground, Japanese specialists preferred to use a tread with a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern consisting of two rows of massive blocks. At the same time, the blocks are arranged transversely, relative to the direction of movement. In combination with the non-directional design of the tread pattern, this solution makes it possible to provide exceptionally high traction and coupling characteristics, both when moving forward and backward.
In addition, the blocks are arranged at a significant distance from each other, which minimizes the risk of clogging the tread with road surface particles. This significantly expands the capabilities of the Yokohama RL45 tire on loose and unstable soils.
In the center of the tread, the massive blocks form a kind of longitudinal rib, which significantly reduces the rolling resistance, which has a decisive influence on the fuel efficiency indicators. In addition, the S-shaped design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern of this model implies a variable pitch of the blocks, which made it possible to significantly reduce the noise level.
The rubber compound used in this model is distinguished by its excellent resistance to any aggressive effects, including punctures and cuts. In addition, the tire design is distinguished by its excellent adaptability to high external loads, which largely ensured the tire a long service life even in very harsh conditions of special work underground.
Main features of the Yokohama RL45 truck tire
- Optimized S-shaped symmetrical non-directional tread pattern provides excellent traction and coupling properties on rocky and loose soils;
- The massive size of the tread blocks contributes to a more even distribution of pressure over the contact patch, which allows the tire to withstand the enormous weight of the cargo being transported without any problems, while providing high resistance to uneven wear;
- The block structure of the tread in combination with the large tread depth has significantly expanded the tire's capabilities in overcoming difficult sections;
- Low noise level and rolling resistance, thanks to the variable pitch of the tread blocks.
