The Westlake CR989 tire is designed for freight transport and buses. The product is all-season, behaves excellently in any weather conditions and various road conditions. The tire is tubeless, has a radial carcass. It shows good traction characteristics on dry and wet pavement, as well as on snow and ice. It is installed on the steering axle, and can also be used for the free-rolling wheel.
The tread design was developed with the possibility of long trips in mind, so the tire is ideal for intercity and international route buses, as well as for cargo equipment that carries goods over long distances. The tread pattern is symmetrical and non-directional. Three central and two shoulder ribs provide a large contact patch area and good grip with the road surface. Four circumferential grooves quickly evacuate moisture, liquid mud and snow slush from the contact patch area.
