The development of the Vredestein Ultrac Cento summer tire was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the famous Dutch manufacturer. Like most other modern models, it was created with the help of specialists from the Giugiaro design bureau, which gave it an extremely attractive appearance. At the same time, it harmoniously combines with the very high technical characteristics of this tire, designed for premium-class passenger cars.
Italian design of the tread
Such a combination was achieved by minimizing design elements. In fact, there are only a few of them in this model. First of all, these are stylish drainage grooves in the central longitudinal rib and inscriptions on its sidewalls. In fact, this was more than enough to give the tire an impressive appearance without compromising its operational characteristics.
Increased silica content
A significant part of the traction properties on a wet road is provided not so much by the drainage system as by the physical and chemical properties of the compound. Its composition includes new-generation materials. First of all, these are modern polymeric compounds, thanks to which the rubber mixture, despite its elasticity, has excellent resistance to breaks. Thanks to this, the Dutch tire makers were able to significantly increase the silica content, thereby providing the tire with good traction on a wet road, as well as high reliability throughout its entire service life.
Optimized design of the shoulder areas
When developing this model, special attention was paid to ensuring maximum comfort on the go. One of the solutions that made this possible was the design of the shoulder areas of the tread. They received a variable curvature profile, thanks to which the size and shape of the contact patch remain unchanged even at significant lateral accelerations. In real operating conditions, this feature is expressed in the form of reliable and predictable behavior of the tire, which significantly simplifies the process of driving a car.
Main features of the Vredestein Ultrac Cento tire
- impressive appearance thanks to the participation of Giugiaro design bureau specialists in the development;
- directional pattern with three continuous longitudinal ribs in the center provides excellent stability and handling at high speed;
- compound made of advanced materials improves traction on wet roads, provides high reliability throughout the entire service life, and also prevents premature wear;
- minimal risk of aquaplaning even at high speeds due to wide longitudinal drainage grooves.
