The asymmetric tread pattern is characterized by the prevalence of massive and deformation-resistant elements. This significantly increases the stability of traction and steering accuracy, especially when driving at high speeds. The increased width of the longitudinal grooves maintains these properties on wet pavement, effectively counteracting the formation of a solid water film between the tire and the road. The compound, which is more than half composed of "silica", allows the tread to closely hug even very cold asphalt surfaces in such conditions.
