Tourador Winter Pro TSS2 — a studded-less winter tyre for passenger vehicles. The model features an asymmetric tread pattern and the 3PMSF marking, confirming its suitability for operation in complex snowy conditions. The design is primarily intended for use on snow, wet asphalt, and winter slush.
The working surface is divided into zones with different geometries. Three longitudinal zigzag-shaped grooves run through the tread, forming constant paths for water and melted snow drainage. In the inner part, a cross-shaped network of grooves is located: it retains snow between the blocks and uses the "snow-to-snow" contact to increase traction. The outer shoulder is formed by larger transverse elements, which support the stiffness of the support zone during turns and maneuvers.
The blocks are covered with a dense network of thin lamellas. They create a multitude of additional edges, oriented at different angles, so the tread can grip a slippery surface during acceleration, braking, and lateral loads. The varying shape and direction of the small notches also help distribute the frequencies of the elements hitting the road, reducing the likelihood of a pronounced monotonous hum. The Winter Pro TSS2 is initially designed as a friction model: it has no stud seats.
